Sunday, November 10, 2013 – This week’s episode of cooking class was about braising. But I already made a beef bourguignon months ago. So I decided to make an appetizer instead.
Flashback to the grilling class, when we grilled a romaine lettuce. And I was all like “you can grill lettuce?” As it turns out, yes, yes you can. A little bit of oil, and then toss it on my cast iron grill pan for some nice grill marks.
Top with sliced pears, gorgonzola cheese, and some balsamic vinaigrette and you have an awesome salad. Actually, any salad with sliced pears, gorgonzola cheese, and balsamic vinaigrette is an awesome salad. But the grilled lettuce is certainly a nice touch.
